“That’s why, if I were involved in Albany County government, I’d be trying to lure Bargain Grocery to the old Department of Motor Vehicles site on South Pearl Street, which is set to be redeveloped. Bargain Grocery, based in Utica, will be opening soon just north of downtown Troy and wants to open more locations in the region.
I’d describe it as sort of a Trader Joe’s with a cheaper food and a charitable mission, and it would be ideal for the South End. Work your magic, Mr. Claus!”
