At Compassion Coalition, we were honored to recently host a distinguished group of representatives from Homeland Security, FEMA, and the Red Cross. This visit was part of their tour across Central New York, aiming to foster collaboration and ensure that our community is well-prepared for any potential future emergencies.
Our guests included officials from various parts of New York, stretching from Buffalo to Albany. While it was the first visit for many of them, we were delighted to see familiar faces, such as Maggi Daigle, Program Administrator for Homeland Security Emergency Services, who has been a key collaborator with Compassion Coalition. We were also excited to meet Greg Forrester from FEMA Region 2 VAL Emergency Management Specialist.
The tour provided our guests with a comprehensive look at the work we do at Compassion Coalition. They saw firsthand how we mobilize resources and support the community, particularly in times of crisis. After the tour, we engaged in productive discussions with our CEO about how Compassion Coalition can partner with FEMA, Homeland Security, and local non-profits during emergencies.
One of the key highlights of the visit was exploring how we can enhance our community’s preparedness and resilience. By working closely with federal and local agencies, as well as other non-profits, we aim to create a robust network that can respond swiftly and effectively in times of need.
