Yesterday, on June 5th, trucks loaded with $500,000 worth of essential household items arrived in Vermont to help families devastated by the floods last July. Compassion Coalition organized this relief effort to support those in need. We were able to send dressers, beds, mattresses, air conditioners, grills, large and small appliances, and a host of other home living resources.
The floods left many Vermont families without basic necessities. Maggi Daigle from Homeland Security in New York connected us with Jason E. Gosselin, Emergency Management Director at the Vermont Agency of Human Services, and we were able to respond and send out needed resources.
Jason is now overseeing the distribution of supplies to the families most affected by the floods. This collaboration highlights the importance of quick, coordinated responses in times of crisis.
We thank organizations like Delivering Good(https://www.delivering-good.org) and Ikea for sending us resources so we can distribute them to families in Vermont during emergency situations.
