On Tuesday July 16th 2024 , a devastating tornado struck our neighboring city, Rome, NY, causing widespread destruction to homes and apartment complexes. Compassion Coalition, committed to swiftly addressing immediate needs during calamities, was contacted by Reed Kinderman from Liberty Housing. They urgently needed food supplies for the displaced individuals sheltering in a nearby hotel. We provided immediate assistance, and Liberty Housing is arranging a larger truck to collect more supplies to support these families.
On Friday when our truck driver was driving he was so inspired in Rome he got on the grill to help out the rescue efforts.
As Rome rebuilds, we will collaborate with local agencies to provide home goods. If you are an agency or non-profit working in Rome and need resources, please reach out to us.
