Community-based giving highlight: This is a weekly blog post that highlights some of the various ways in which Compassion Coalition serves our community. Check back every Monday for new posts.
Last December (2017) we received a call from On Point For College/Utica asking for our help with feeding 40 homeless college students being housed at a local college during winter break. Without hesitation our store team filled up 2-3 weeks of meals for these students.
The call came in again for 2018 for 41 students from a local college, and our team again loaded up a cargo van to serve these students.
Make no mistake, America wastes 40% of all produced food each year. There’s zero reason that any person in America should be hungry. We are constantly working to save the food, and create less waste.
